Local Business Profile – Dream Greener Lawn & Landscape
Dream Greener Lawn & Landscape provides high-end residential and commercial landscaping and hardscaping design as well as complete care packages including lawn and landscaping maintenance, lawn and plant health care, exterior pest control, and snow removal services.
The company was named an “Eco-Friendly” Bethel Park business after being nominated by Bethel Park Chamber Director Connie Ruhl for the development work they completed at their current location.
“Dream Greener bought and landscaped an unsightly County maintenance site that was an eyesore and turned it into a beautiful-looking landscaped property,” said Ruhl. “Now instead of old parked equipment and unsightly dilapidated old buildings, they made the area look clean, beautiful and added to the ‘park-like’ look of Bethel Park. Because of this, I nominated them for their refreshing, clean, beautiful green addition to our community.”
Prior to its purchase by Dream Greener Lawn & Landscape’s Founder and President Jon Stanton, the property had two dilapidated buildings, and the site contributed to flooding on Rt. 88 when it rained. According to Stanton, there were also issues with erosion, animals and weed overgrowth.
“We invested in water management systems which have mitigated flooding on Rt. 88 near our property; we also built a state-of-the-art landscape facility that includes eco-friendly products and technology. We have completed extensive grading and contouring, designed and installed new outdoor living spaces along with boulders and decorative stone and plantings to finish the space, and have done extensive landscaping as well as re-graded contours and slopes,” said Stanton.

BACKGROUND
Back in 2013, Jon Stanton launched Dream Greener Lawn & Landscape out of a small residential garage with one employee, and within a year, the company expanded and moved to an old Army Base in Collier Township.
After he and his family moved to Bethel Park, he began to look for a new business space that fit his business vision and was close to home. “While driving to work, I’d see the space where we’re currently located along Library Road,” said Stanton. “I found out that it was owned by Allegheny County, so I contacted them to purchase the property.
From there, he entered a three-year development phase hiring architects, engineers and contractor, New Belle Construction, while working with Municipal Planning & Zoning Committees and obtaining further County approvals.
“We broke ground at our site in February 2021 and the project took one year to complete,” said Stanton. “We officially opened in March 2022 and just celebrated our one-year anniversary at this location!“
The six-acre property includes a 3,500 sq. ft. office space and a 9,000 sq. ft. garage where they keep their products, work vehicles and tools. They also have an in-house plant nursery and store related products such as mulch, topsoil, seed, stone, salt, hardscaping materials, and more.
“We don’t currently offer wholesale supply yard services and offerings, but are considering it for the future,” said Stanton.
During their busy season, Dream Greener has 30 to 40 full-time employees. And, if you’re looking for a position, they may have one ready for you!
“We’re hiring office administrative staff, field management, account managers, and field personnel,” said Stanton.

Stanton’s background may be a surprise to some as he used to be a DJ and broadcast on live radio! In fact, he was a DJ at most major Pittsburgh nightclubs during the early-90s – early 2000s.
“But I always loved gardening and serving people. In fact, from the age of 8, I mowed lawns and shoveled snow in my neighborhood. Later, I worked for a local landscaper, and I kept that interest and dream of opening my own facility someday,” said Stanton. “I was also a top performer with a national turf care provider and continued studying and expanding my turf and plant health treatment knowledge over the years. I later became a nationally recognized turf care specialist in Pittsburgh.”
He says that he actually connects music and dancing to gardening and landscaping.
“I feel that watching people experience the joy of music is very similar to seeing them experience the joy of their ‘HGTV’ moment when we’ve finished a design and installation project for them,” he said. “I enjoy seeing people happy by making their dreams a reality!”
