MUNICIPAL PLANNER

Bethel Park is seeking an individual for the position of Municipal Planner.   The Municipal Planner is primarily responsible for providing recommendations regarding the approval of the land development and subdivision applications, the oversight of the Comprehensive Plan and Ordinance updates and grant applications. Must possess strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage public meetings.

The successful candidate will have earned a Bachelor’s degree in Planning or a related field of study and two years related experience in planning, community development, redevelopment and/or zoning and subdivision enforcement; or a Master’s degree in Planning or related field of study.

Candidates are required to undergo a thorough background investigation and pre-employment drug screening and to comply with all requirements of state law. Bethel Park’s Home Rule Charter requires the Municipal Planner to become a resident within one (1) year of hiring.
