NOTICE OF EXAMINATION FOR THE POSITION OF ENTRY LEVEL POLICE OFFICER

Applications to take the test for the position of entry-level police officer are being accepted on behalf of the Municipality of Bethel Park/Bethel Park Civil Service Commissions until 5:00 PM on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at the offices of the South Hills Area Council of Governments (SHACOG), 2600 Old Greentree Road, Carnegie, PA 15106, 412-429-1130.

A single application to take the test and a single testing process will be utilized for all municipalities served by this joint testing process.  Appointments to the Bethel Park Police Department will be made by the Bethel Park Municipal Council.    Information concerning minimum eligibility requirements for each police department served by this process is contained in the application package.

Applications and instructions are available by clicking the link below, at the SHACOG office, at the SHACOG website (www.shacog.com), and at the Bethel Park Police Department.  Completed applications are to be returned with a non-refundable fee of $50.00 only to the SHACOG office.  A physical agility test is scheduled for the morning of Saturday, August 11, 2018 with a written test to follow in the afternoon of that same day for those who pass the physical agility test.

PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
MUNICIPALITY OF BETHEL PARK
DRIVER/LABORER

The Municipality of Bethel Park is seeking a qualified individual for a driver/laborer positions in the Public Works Department.  2-5 years relevant experience is preferred.  Performs maintenance and repairs of municipal infrastructure including roads, sanitary system, storm system, parks, and signs, emergency call outs and snow removal.  Position is Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.  Position requires a valid PA Commercial Driver’s License Class B w/air brake endorsement.  Will be required to demonstrate ability to proficiently and safely operate department trucks and snow plow.  Residency requirement within one year of employment.  2018 pay rate is $24.64 per hour.   Full benefit package.  EOE.  Pre-hire criminal background check and drug test are conducted.  Interested candidates should send resume with references to Shawn Arbaugh, Municipal Manager, 5100 West Library Avenue, Bethel Park, PA  15102, or email to resume@bethelpark.net no later than Monday, June 25, 2018.

 

 

PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
MUNICIPALITY OF BETHEL PARK
COMMUNITY CENTER ATTENDANT

The Municipality of Bethel Park is seeking a qualified individual for a Community Center Attendant position in the Public Works Department.  2-5 years relevant experience is preferred.  Work is to be assigned to assist Public Works Department for three days per week and two days a week at Community Center.  Ability to perform preventative maintenance and basic repairs and must have basic understanding of building electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems; and ability to cut grass and respond to emergency calls outs and snow removal.  Position requires Saturday and Sunday work, with flexibility working 3 additional days during the week.  Position requires a valid PA Commercial Driver’s License Class B w/air brake endorsement.  Will be required to demonstrate ability to proficiently and safely operate department trucks and snow plow.  2018 pay rate is $24.74 per hour.  Full benefit package.
