The Municipality of Bethel Park is seeking a qualified individual for a laborer/driver position in the Public Works Department. 2-5 years relevant experience is preferred. Performs maintenance and repairs of municipal infrastructure including roads, sanitary system, storm system, parks, and signs,emergency call outs and snow removal. Position is Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM. Position requires that you obtain a PA Commercial Driver’s License Class B w/air brake endorsement withinone year of employment date. Will be required to demonstrate ability to proficiently and safely operate department trucks and snow plow. Residency requirement within one year of employment. 2019 pay rate is $24.89 per hour. Full benefit package EOE. Pre-hire criminal background check and drug test are conducted. Building Inspector / Code Enforcement Officer
Municipality of Bethel Park is seeking to fill the position of Building Code Official and Inspector / Code Enforcement Officer. This position serves as the Building Code Official for the Municipality, as well as assists with the administration of commercial and residential building code enforcement activities under the State Wide Building Code (Uniform Construction Code), in addition to the code enforcement of municipal zoning and property maintenance ordinances. Responsibilities include: Building Code Official, plan review of construction documents, construction inspections, issuing permits, records maintenance, responding to public requests for service and addressing residents’ concerns, enforcing regulations with violation notices and prosecution methods, attending and coordinating Zoning Hearing Board meetings and Building and Fire Code appeals when necessary. Must maintain knowledge of all current legislation, rules and regulations of the PA Uniform Construction Code. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with residents, contractors, architects, engineers and the general public. Must hold and maintain the following UCC certifications: (10) Residential Building Inspector, (12) Residential Mechanical Inspector, (14) Residential Energy Inspector, (15) Building Inspector, (18) Fire Inspector, (20) Mechanical Inspector, (22) Energy Inspector, (23) Accessibility Inspector/Plans Examiner, (24) Building Plans Examiner, (28) Energy Plans Examiner and (29) Building Code Official. 7-10 years of relevant experience and/or Engineering degree is preferred. Pre-employment background check and drug screening are required. Salary Range $60,000-70,000 plus a comprehensive fringe benefits package.
