Building Inspection/Code Enforcement

 

In-Office Hours for Building Inspection/Code Enforcement:
Monday – Friday  9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

The office of Building Inspections and Code Enforcement is responsible for the enforcement of all municipal property maintenance, zoning ordinances and the Statewide Building Code, which was adopted for use by Municipal Council in 2004.

Permits/Building Inspection:

Building permits are required for most commercial and residential construction including renovation projects. Zoning permits are required when there is a temporary or permanent change to the use of a property.  A full list of permits with descriptions is available here.

Code Enforcement:

Code Enforcement is essential for the overall health, safety, and welfare of our community. Residents and Commercial property owners must maintain their properties in accordance with the established ordinances; failure to do so will result in having a fine assessed and a mandate to bring the property into compliance with all applicable codes.   Residents may report possible code violations  (e.g high grass, yard debris, stagnant water) by using the Citizen Action Line or by calling (412) 851-2777.

The office of Code Enforcement/Building Inspection is located in the Community Services Department on the second floor of the Bethel Park Municipal Building.   In-Office hours are maintained from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
