Programs and Upcoming Events:
Spring & Fall Clean Ups:
The Municipality of Bethel Park, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), sponsors Spring and Fall clean-up days. PennDot supplies the trash bags, safety vests and gloves, and the Municipality provides patches for the young participants. This is an opportunity for willing volunteers to help clean the parks and roadways of Bethel Park and spruce-up our Community. A list of areas that are in need of clean up will be provided. Fall Clean-Up is scheduled for the 3rd Saturday in October. Spring Clean-Up is the third Saturday in April (unless it falls on Easter weekend.)
I would like to extend an invitation to all Bethel Park residents who are 90 years of age or older to join the 90+ Club. Each October, I host a luncheon at the Bethel Park Community Center for all members of the Club. If you are currently a member, you will automatically receive an invitation to this year’s event. In addition to the luncheon, birthday cards are sent to all the members.
Bethel Park Annual Holiday Lighting & Decorating Contest
Each year, I sponsor a Holiday Lighting & Decorating Contest. There are nine winners, one from each Ward. The contest runs the week before and the week after Christmas. Winners will be announced at the January Council Meeting. If you would like to nominate a house or help with judging, please contact Janet Davin for details at 412-831-6800 x211 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
1st Annual Halloween Lighting & Decoration Contest
Each year, I sponsor a Halloween Lighting & Decoration Contest. There are nine winners, one from each Ward. The contest runs the week before Halloween. Winners will be announced at the November Council Meeting. If you would like to nominate a house or help with judging, please contact Janet Davin for details at 412-831-6800 x211 or via email at email@example.com.
Trolley Beautification Project
In effort to keep our town looking its best, I have initiated a volunteer program to maintain the flower boxes along the trolley tracks from Center Street to South Park Road. Each box is assigned for one year; the design of the box is determined by the volunteers. In addition to the initial plantings, periodic weeding needs to be done throughout the year.
Recognizing our citizens for outstanding achievements is important, and as such, I have developed a program to accomplish this mission. Recognition Awards are presented to residents of the Municipality for a variety special achievements, or for going above and beyond to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
