POTENTIAL DYING OR DEAD TREE ISSUES
Spring is a great time to survey trees on your property to check for any signs of sickness. While trees are beautiful and provide many benefits, they can become dangerous if they’re sick or dying, posing a threat to you and your property.
Signs of a sick or dying tree can include any or all of the following:
- Leafless branches
- Falling branches
- Peeling bark
- Excessive ants and other insects
- Damaged trunks
Trees can get sick for a variety of reasons including damage from a storm, a lack of water or nutrients, pests, and more. Therefore, if you see any of the attributes noted above, contact an ARBORIST or TREE SERVICE PROFESSIONAL for an evaluation. This simple measure can keep you safe from physical harm and from potential fines. These professionals will take the necessary measures based on the situation ensuring that you know whether a tree needs maintenance or should be removed.

302.4 No person, partnership, firm or corporation shall permit the following growths and vegetation which are hereby declared to be a detriment to the environment of Bethel Park Municipality:
- 302.4.4 Dead, dying or diseased trees or parts thereof pose a hazard to persons or property in their immediate vicinity.
- Failure to comply with a notice of a violation on your property may result in fines of up to $1000.00 per day, with each day’s continuing violation being considered a separate offense.
