At tonight’s Council Meeting, Bethel Park Mayor Jack Allen declared Saturday, April 15 as Nino Bonaccorsi Day. “I did this for him because he’s worked hard and this recognition is well deserved,” said Mayor Allen.

Bonaccorsi, a 2017 Bethel Park High School graduate and wrestler, is the first Pittsburgh Panther wrestler to win a National Championship since 2008. Nino had a 21-0 season including the NCAA tournament wins making him the eighth Pittsburgh Panther wrestler to finish undefeated. He also was a three-time ACC Champion, a three-time All-American and a member of the U.S. Junior National Team that traveled to Serbia to compete in the Under 23 World Championship.

In high school, Nino posted a 147-21 record and finished his high school career ranked second in the country. He was a two-time PIAA runner-up at Hershey and a two-time WPIAL Champion and as well as a FloNationals and Powerade winner.
“I hope that everyone in the community will join me in congratulating and recognizing Nino’s outstanding achievement when they see him,” said Mayor Allen.
