Dye Testing The purpose of a Dye Test Inspection is to certify that rainwater or other extraneous sources of water do not enter the Sanitary Sewer System. This certification does not include inspection of the sewer lateral. It’s intended to merely confirm that there is no infiltration and inflow entering into the Municipal-owned sanitary sewer system. For more information on this requirement, Link to Municipal Ordinance 1-13-86B Dye Test FAQ’s WHEN DO I NEED A DYE TEST INSPECTION? WHY DO I NEED A DYE TEST WHO CAN PERFORM A DYE TEST? WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A DYE TEST IS DONE? HOW DO I GET A DYE TEST PACKET? Notice: Municipal engineering staff randomly perform inspections with the licensed plumber present to ensure compliance.
